Day 5 - Ride for Joy - 10-1-11
Today was the day we had fellow New Lifers join us - I logged 10 miles into the church - then Pastor Pete Campbell, Silas Allen, Leighton Hume & Luke Sommers joined in a trip back to my house - stop for lunch - then back to the church - 20 miles for them. Joshua Sommers also logged in 20 miles on his own after a soccer game. So far, Pastor Pete & I have logged 206 miles of the 372 from Angola to Evansville, crossing the State of Indiana from the northeast corner to the southwest corner to raise money for the Joy Bible Institute in Vanuatu. 166 to go. Tomorrow will be a day off to worship with our church family - no bike riding! Then, on Monday, we will start out again from Pittsboro and log at least 40 miles each day until we get to Evansville on Thursday. The weather is supposed to be much better next week. We just need little wind and lots of down hills!
I'll let some pictures tell the story for today -
